Leading up to her performance at AT&T’s Super Saturday Night, we invited Lady Gaga’s “Little Monsters” to celebrate their individuality through four activations championing 5G’s ‘zero latency’. First, we created a digital Monster Wall that uses motion-sensing cameras to track participants’ dance moves and instantly transform them into SSN-inspired Monsters. Attendees could also use our Geofence Snapchat lens to bring out their inner Little Monsters in AR. Next, a larger-than-life Monster Paw surrounded by ten cameras provided fans with a 150-degree 4K GIF in a snap. Finally, our Monster Room filled with screens showcased curated content from the event.

To launch the new AJ XXXV, we partnered with Jordan Brand to broadcast a livestream unveil of the new silhouette. Immediately after the livestream, media and members had access to a microsite which housed a WebGL version of the shoe, athlete animations and stories, a downloadable electronic press kit, an AR experience allowing users to explore the features of the shoe in their own homes and much more.

For All Mankind: Time Capsule is an Emmy® Award-winning AR experience from Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore and featuring stars of the show.

Join Danny, teenage son of astronauts Gordo & Tracy Stevens, as he examines interactive keepsakes full of details about life, love, and the world of For All Mankind. Every object tells a story: a simple mixtape unveils how young love first began. A home computer holds the secrets to the teens’ changing lives. And items as ordinary as a newspaper and answering machine shed light on impactful events in the lives of Gordo and Tracy Stevens, revealing more about the alternate world of For All Mankind and what’s coming in season 2.

CLIENT: DoorDash

LOCATIONS: Boulder, CO > Berkeley, CA > Columbus, OH

We helped DoorDash recruit students across the US by building the funnest thing imaginable: an inflatable food-themed obstacle course. Produced together with Bigger Than Life, we designed the DashCourse to imitate a delivery run—albeit a bit more bouncy. Made up of a pizza slide, hot dog hurdles and stepping-stone hamburgers, the course challenged students to carry a delivery bag through its obstacles as fast as possible. Ensuring the good word about working for DoorDash bounced its way across the web, we created a social campaign using footage from the events that highlighted the many benefits of becoming a Dasher.

CLIENT: Dolby

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

For Dolby's ongoing site-specific installations at its unique gallery space in San Francisco, GMUNK and Tool created an augmented reality audiovisual quest across the stars. Asteria, inspired by Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and cosmic mythology, consists of a 3-act, mobile AR experience for iOS devices synchronized with a 12 minute film that plays on loop on the gallery’s 64-foot LED wrap around wall.

Inspired by the Dolby Gallery itself, GMUNK and Tool of North America worked to design an AR experience that pairs with the big screen, coupling the two platforms to create this immersive space exploration. Putting the user in the stereoscopic transmissions of the “xO-9 probe” explorer, they’re taken to three different worlds in the year 2027, each world in a different state of worldly evolution; each corresponding to a unique epoch in Earth’s own development.

After giving thought to the space, GMUNK decided to pair the screen with an AR experience, using the screen as a backdrop and the source of life and sound for the installation. The smartphone thus becomes an extension of the story that is being told by the film.

Leveraging real-time programming, audio-reactive 3D visuals, and immersive Dolby Atmos mixing, celestial bodies move through space while exoplanetary terrain is projected onto the gallery’s LED Ribbon Wall. With Dolby Atmos, sound is not constrained to channels, but moves around you in the three-dimensional space. The Dolby sound system allows users to pan around with their smartphones and be surrounded by sound throughout the gallery, creating a multi-immersive futuristic space adventure, supported by visuals inspired by scientific research and data. GMUNK and Unity Artist, Jeff Bryant, worked together to design the story and visuals behind the three planets in the installation, envisioning the project by looking towards the future of space travel.

In order to create the best experience for the user and to create a smooth transition between worlds and storylines, GMUNK designed the AR app to pair with the Dolby screen content.

Celebrating 80 years of Batman, we helped AT&T steal the show at Comic-Con 2019 with The Batman Experience: an interactive exhibition featuring the coolest activations to ever hit the Batman universe. We crafted the centerpiece installation with a VR skydiving experience that lets you put on the Batsuit to fly through Gotham City. We also produced Rogue’s Gallery Rumble: a punching-bag installation that uses projection mapping to let you beat your favorite villains in return for onomatopoeia such as Pow! and Wham! And what’s a Batman tribute without a Batcave where you can play Batman games throughout the decades?

For the fourth consecutive year, Tool, CP+B and Infiniti collaborated on a unique technology installation inside the Infiniti pavilion during Pebble Beach Car Week. This year, we designed and animated a cutting-edge 3D projection mapping display that took viewers on an immersive journey through the brand’s Japanese heritage and it’s influence on the design process, while using the INFINITI QX50 as its canvas. Features such as the VC-Turbo engine, Pro-Pilot assist and the bold design story are highlighted in immersive, vivid detail.

CLIENT: Twitch

LOCATION: Amsterdam, Netherlands

We partnered with Twitch to create the ultimate IRL celebration of Twitch culture. For Twitchcon Amsterdam, we produced an immersive experience where all the Twitch fans could meet to squad up. The “Big Room” featured six themed pods: Platformer Pod, Arcade Pod, Shrine of Legends Pod, Fighting Pod, Sports Pod, and the 8-Bit Disco. During the two-day event at the RAI in Amsterdam, 17,000 streamers, creators and viewers gathered for the ultimate reunion.

CLIENT: Intel & Mobileye

Discover how Intel and Mobileye are accelerating automated driving solutions from the individual components to the larger flow of data. This experience allows attendees to approach an acrylic transparent vehicle with sensors that respond to their presence. Display monitors built in the car will highlight Intel, Mobileye and other technologies that make autonomous driving safer and more reliable, as well as highlighting in-vehicle experience (IVE). The combination of Intel and Mobileye allow Mobileye’s leading computer vision expertise (the “eyes”) to complement Intel’s high-performance computing and connectivity expertise (the “brains”) to create safer and more affordable automated driving solutions from the bumper to the cloud.

Demo first launched at CES in Las Vegas in January 2018 as part of both the Intel and Mobileye booths. Additional demo events in 2018 include ‘CES on the Lot’ at Warner Brothers Studios (Burbank, CA), the BMW Business & Brand Summit at the BMW Welt (Munich, Germany), the Intel Capital Global Summit (Palm Desert, CA), AT&T Shape event at Warner Brothers Studios (Burbank, CA) and Intel Headquarters (Phoenix, AZ).

For some disadvantaged communities, the game of life can feel rigged. To help even the playing field, we teamed up with DoorDash and Angel City Football Club, setting up a charity event for All Peoples Community Center in April 2022. Located in the heart of Hollywood, our predominantly female team designed and painted over 30 m² of turf and populated it with free-to-use football challenges. The more participants scored, the more we donated. Our efforts were a roaring success: with 88,000 meals donated, we made a meaningful difference and helped position DoorDash as a contributive community member.

For Tribeca Film Festival 2021 we partnered with DoorDash, the food delivery service, to prepare a surprising twist on the theater experience. Creating a mashup of the classic NYC deli ticket counter and a movie concession stand with a whimsical, pastel-toned Wes Anderson style—the pop-up experience invited movie-goers to take a ticket and act out famous movie lines written on it. To set (and share) the scene, festival-goers could pose with various props and backdrops. The abundance of shareable content resulted in 150K cumulative impressions on Facebook and Instagram, countless cinematic memories—and landed the DoorDash brand in the limelight.

LOCATION: Pebble Beach, CA

In August 2017, Infiniti offered an immersive, narrated virtual reality (VR) experience featuring the QX50 Concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance®. As guests entered the VR experience space, they were invited to take a seat in an INFINITI driver's seat and were fitted with VR goggles and headphones. Guests triggered the experience with their actions and immediately begin seeing car parts drift toward them from the horizon to form a QX50 Concept around them. As participants visually explored the car, guided by narration, new experiences were activated to highlight its interior and exterior, Drive Assist Technologies designed to enhance drivers' senses and the world's first, production-ready variable compression turbocharged (VCT) engine, an innovation 20 years in the making.

In addition to the VR experience, there was also an interactive LED wall featuring the VCT engine's power and efficiency modes. Using directional body and/or hand movements, participants were able to activate the modes, allowing them to see firsthand the compressions and various features of each mode.

To Celebrate the Launch of New Jimmy Pickle® Bloody Mary Mix, the Two Brands Team Up to Give Mom the Ultimate Gift and Brunch in One. This year, forget the robes, candles, and flowers and give mom what she really wants – a giant cocktail and a Jimmy John’s sandwich. To celebrate the launch of the new limited edition Jimmy Pickle Bloody Mary Mix from Jimmy John’s and Zing Zang, the brands created a kit with all you need to create and garnish mom’s favorite brunch beverage.

The “Brunch in a Cup” kit offers mom a larger-than-life Bloody Mary experience. Alongside the new Jimmy Pickle Bloody Mary Mix, mom will receive a custom glass, a delicious Bloody Mary recipe, and a giant skewer crafted to hold the mother of all garnishes, a mouthwatering Jimmy John’s sandwich and pickle to top off your brunch cocktail. The kit includes a Jimmy John’s gift card to purchase the sandwich and pickle garnish, because we all know celery just isn’t going to cut it.

The Jimmy Pickle Bloody Mary Mix pays homage to Jimmy John’s iconic pickles, beloved by guests nationwide. This innovative recipe combines Jimmy John’s pickle juice with Zing Zang’s award-winning Bloody Mary mix, promising the perfectly pickled brunch experience.

LOCATION: Park City, UT

This immersive, full-sensory virtual driving experience is controlled by 30 emotional, cognitive and physical inputs to create a unique environment with landscape, color and music changing in real-time to reflect the driver’s moods. It is inspired by the brand’s performance technologies that define the Acura driving experience.

To experience Acura “Mood Roads,” guests will enter a spherical motion simulator equipped with a performance driver’s seat and 30 biometric sensors, measuring 24 integration points including the user’s brain waves, heartbeat and facial expressions. Once buckled in, guests will embark on a journey customized and based on the driver’s mood as interpreted by the biometric sensors.

"Mood Roads” takes each guest down a virtual road in an abstract environment, bringing to life the road’s curves, twists and turns through the motion simulator, all responding in real-time to the driver’s emotional, cognitive and physical inputs. The visual journey is viewed by the driver as a large projection on the inside of the “Mood Roads” sphere, accompanied by music specifically composed for differing experiences and other sound effects inspired by Acura vehicles, including the NSX supercar. It is a highly personal 90-second journey with no two experiences being identical.

CLIENT: Adidas Basketball

Live Installation and VR experience for the Adidas Level 3 basketball camp (#LVL3) at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV, the Houston Galleria Mall in Houston, TX, the Seventh Letter Art Gallery in Los Angeles and in 4 different Houston area Dick Sporting Good's locations. Built for the Gear VR and YouTube360, this James Harden VR experience leveraged the Two Big Ears SDK for robust ambisonic sound and included an immersive custom built and programmed haptic system with wind and floor effects tied to specific moments in the film. The VR experience officially kicked off the Project Harden social campaign (@projectharden) and provided a sneak preview of James Harden's upcoming shoe release. Also supported a large 18 store US retail store execution as well as VR experiences in China, France, Greece, Italy, Spain and the Philipines. 

CLIENT: 20th Century Fox

This interactive WebGL experience explores the impact and aftermath of the world following the alien’s attack 20 years ago. Set to a stunning global visualization, this custom experience applies robust storytelling with unique video and photo content in promotion of 20th Century Fox’s upcoming film, Independence Day: Resurgence.

CLIENT: IBM

AGENCY: Ogilvy

Since 1992, the United States Tennis Association has teamed with IBM to develop tech platforms to entertain and help increase fan engagement, creating data visualizations from match analytics. This year, IBM wanted to do something a bit different. It worked with musician James Murphy to create the US Open Sessions, songs created from match data in real time using a unique algorithm. The tracks, which are available on the campaign’s website, are accompanied by animated graphics.

The storage, coding and extraction of data were all supported by the IBM Cloud. WebGL, Canvas, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, WebSockets and Node.js were used to create graphical representations of the music and tennis data. The IBM-created algorithm encompassed six coded “instruments” that generated different sounds depending on what was happening on the court, such as aces and breakpoints. Murphy then manipulated the sounds to produce songs. IBM used social engagement—Twitter and Facebook—to increase reach. Behind-the-scenes videos on YouTube gave users an inside peek into the production process.

After the tournament, Murphy released 14 original tracks remixed from his favorite matches. All in all, the campaign generated more than 833K YouTube views and 1M impressions on the US Open Sessions site and SoundCloud. Many major media outlets covered the campaign, including Pitchfork, Vice, Rolling Stone, Stereogum, The New York Times and Gizmodo.

After our killer activation on TwitchCon Amsterdam 2022, Twitch invited us to produce some experiential activations for the TwitchCon San Diego 2022. We created a huge booth for attendees to create their own version of some famous emotes. After the animated emote was created, we even had the chance to showcase some of them on displays around the site. We also created a huge POG head to be used as a photo op.

Punk.Monks, is an internal and external initiative that showcases the talented people and their own creative endeavors within the S4 Capital / Media.Monks network. The 5-9, after the 9-5. It has been featured in numerous trade industry articles and continues to showcase talent and the company’s “people first” approach.

The employees are the face of our company - and there are a LOT of them! They are constantly imagining, designing and collaborating on projects both in AND outside of work. Punk.Monks serves as a way to celebrate these passion projects, amplify their work, and create a community.

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

To celebrate the premier of the re-imagined Fresh Prince, Verizon, Westbrook, Peacock and Media.Monks created the 5G Ultra-Throne Experience. Users stepped inside the world of Bel-Air to take a seat in one of three character inspired thrones rooms. The experience debuted at a once in a lifetime, star-studded launch event on location in a Mansion in Bel-Air, CA. For fans not in attendance we premiered a snap lens allowing users to try on the titular crown. Bel-Air went on to deliver the BIGGEST Peacock original series premiere of all-time. Meanwhile the snap lens reached more than 32 million.

CLIENT: DoorDash

LOCATION: New York, NY

To celebrate that DoorDash now delivers alcohol, we built a fully stocked pop up bar that fit inside of one of their iconic delivery bags and invited New York City to join us for a drink. We served over 500 custom crafted cocktails, turning the Open Bar into New York City’s hottest new watering hole. It was loved so much by both customers and client that we’re taking the Open bar on the open road, popping up in various cities in the US.

CLIENT: Luminar

LOCATION: Las Vegas, NV

Challenged to bring a high-tech activation to CES 2023 for Luminar, we designed and engineered a conference-wide game of Laser Tag! In this high stakes game you needed to be as fast and accurate as Luminar’s autonomous sensing solutions to compete for front-row tickets to the world’s most advanced autonomous speedway race. We equipped each guest’s conference badge with a 4G-enabled receiver and gave them a fob to blast other players at CES and beyond. The 100+ players were organized into ‘flash mobs’ where they earned power-ups on the global leaderboard, making this one of CES’s buzziest attractions.

LOCATION: New York, NY

To showcase Verizon 5G Ultra wideband, we collaborated with 5 next generation partners to create an immersive consumer experience called an AI Poster. This interactive kiosk featured Alta B, the first pop star from outer space created by Simon Fuller. When participants approached the kiosk, they engaged in a machine learning-based conversation where they were asked questions about themselves and Alta B was able to swiftly identify the emotions of the participants. Additionally, we created a corresponding Snap lens where participants captured and shared the experience on their social media with their own communities beyond the Irving Plaza footprint.

LOCATION: Las Vegas, NV

Helping Canon share its tech innovations at CES 2022, we partnered with FCBX and produced the brand’s event booth. We focused our capabilities on the theme TOGETHERNEXT and captured the world of Canon inside four experience rooms. Equipped with digital displays, the rooms let visitors interact with new products, discover imaging technologies, and explore advancements in VR. To support attendee flow, we created and managed a microsite so visitors could book pre-scheduled experiences. Once there, they could enjoy the array of videos, graphics and signs we created to digitally enhance Canon’s showcase.

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

Work Without Limits is an annual B2B event that engages Upwork’s Enterprise Customers, both online and offline—and we were tasked to produce the event. Our objective was to engage customers on the future of work and showcase how Upwork can facilitate growth for their organizations. We designed a purposeful event to inspire the Upwork community to co-create and reimagine the future of work. From creative direction and concepting to production, onsite fabrication, and developing the virtual event platform, we handled everything from start to finish. The golden thread? Upwork’s focus on reimagining the workplace, the workforce and work life.

CLIENT: eBay

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

Shining a light on eBay as a luxury shopping destination, we helped the E-commerce OG pop-up under the megawatt star power of the Oscars. In our first experiential collaboration with Jam3, we custom-fabricated a premium booth to display high-end watches and handbags. Elegantly molded (and accessorized) golden hands and adjustable lighting drew in visitors to view their own decorated wrists displayed via an accessories camera. In addition to driving awareness of eBay’s luxury offering, the booth served as a touchpoint for building celebrity relationships. Those in attendance were gifted—and given the opportunity to donate the goods to raise funds for charity. Elevation achieved.

CLIENT: Klarna

As a digital-first bank, Klarna has thrived by giving people the freedom to simplify their online shopping experience. We teamed up with Anomaly to turn the tables once again by giving Twitch viewers the chance to beat professional gamers at their own game. By besting the pros on Twitch, people could steal the rigs of KittyPlays and SypherPK with help from fellow gamers like Snoop Dogg. We made the two-day event look amazing with custom sets for each livestream that’s sporting Klarna’s unmistakable aesthetic. In addition to the run-of-show, we also produced the promos videos and campaign site.

LOCATION: Orlando, FL

For IBM’s Think flagship event in the US and the Think EMEA Tour, we built a physical diorama that presented IBM's solutions to modernize enterprises and simplify risk management. With a mix of physical and digital elements, a customized back-end system enabled the diorama to light up in conjunction with content displayed on the screen. From concept to execution, our team of creatives, designers, engineers and developers created a hands-on experience that embraced IBM’s modernized look & feel. We transformed four use cases into engaging narratives, encouraging business leaders to learn, be inspired and enjoy.

CLIENT: AT&T

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA

Partnering with AT&T, we brought two awe-inspiring activations to Essence Festival in New Orleans. Inspired by Baobab—Africa's tree of life—we created the LED-covered Tree of Dreams. Visitors could share joyful messages onto the tree, populating it with a glowing reflection of community and highlighting the connectedness of AT&T Fiber. We also produced an NFT minting experience: the Dream in Black NFT video booth. NOLA local, Jade The Artist, designed a custom NFT and the video booth backdrop for festival-goers to pose in front of. Afterwards, they received a printed snapshot, a shareable GIF and the chance to mint the NFT.

CLIENT: Harley Davidson

We produced Harley-Davidson’s first-ever virtual event to announce its 2021 models including Harley’s highly anticipated adventure-touring motorcycle. As part of an integrated production, we created a series of films including the Go Ride trailer, the 26-minute documentary Everything is a Road, and the Pan America reveal starring Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa. All of this and more could be experienced during a 2-day event we scripted, shot and produced — along with the PanAm and H-D 21 microsites. Through live Q&As, dealers could learn more about each model and access exclusive content after the event to keep excitement high.

CLIENT: Mastercard

Partnering with Anomaly, we created Direct Line: an interactive phone line for MasterClass members to speak with their icons. Calling the hotline, members chatted with visionary talents like Misty Copeland and Werner Herzog or left messages to be answered later. We produced the entire project, including the custom Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system that routed calls through multiple chains, mixing pre-recorded messages with live operators. The dynamic IVR adjusted to the time of day and caller input—showing what it means to truly master a craft. Bolstered by our social assets, the campaign undeniably dialed up members’ connection to their mentors.

To help kick off the largest Converse campaign in their history to date, Tool and director Ben Tricklebank, created a fully immersive Virtual Reality experience that puts users into the minds of 4 uniquely different Converse personalities through interactive 360 films. Optimized for Google Cardboard playback and utilizing a stereophonic audio engine, Tool designed and developed both an iOS and Android app for people to dive deeper into the world of these personalities and explore every corner of their universe with full viewing control.

Want some “Tender Love” with those fries? We’ve got you covered. This Valentine’s Day, we helped DoorDash and Shake Shack create Love Delivered: a virtual date-night experience featuring 90’s boyband Boyz II Men. Lovebirds and singles alike are treated to a sweet night of livestream serenade—all while kitted out in concert merch and feasting on a special menu. We were in charge of the entire look and feel of the campaign, from concept to the custom V-day merch kit. Managing the livestream on Facebook and Twitch, we ensured the total experience was as smooth as the band’s soulful ballads.

2021 was a comeback year for Brooklyn and the restaurants that call it home. It’s also a comeback for Nets basketball and their fans. Following the 2021 playoffs DoorDash created a spectacular fan appreciation experience that celebrated the comeback of Brooklyn food and Nets basketball.

The DoorDash Tunnel was a thematic space reminiscent of the classic NBA tunnel where fans get hyped as they celebrate the Nets playoff run.

Fans could warm up their shooting with Pop-A-Food shot, get their heads (and stomachs) into the game at Snack Stat Station, and snag some gametime swag before the buzzer in Shot Clock Shop. Then they could make their entrance in a one-of-a-kind photo op — running out of branded tunnel complete with smoke, dynamic lighting, and an announcer calling your name.

Joining forces with Wieden+Kennedy, Moment Factory and The Resource Factory, we created Samsung Dreamground—a first-of-its-kind XR experience that transforms the physical world into a fantastical AR wonderland where users can create, explore and play. To build Dreamground, we developed a standalone app and used real-time development and rigorous 3D production to bring it to life. Transcending the everyday AR experience, we filled Dreamground with fantasy-like landscapes, winsome world building elements and giant interactive sculptures. With its location-based functionality, the experience dynamically adapts to where people are and what they see through their lens. Those wishing to explore Dreamground outside of SoFi can visit Samsung’s flagship store in NYC or try the general AR experience at home.

CLIENT: Cisco

Together with Cisco, we helped launch a new branding for Webex through an interactive press event—hosted through Cisco TV and supercharged by our own LiveXP software. The broadcast was available in multiple languages and used IP-based geopositioning to automatically suggest one of 10 different languages. The event featured a host of Cisco executives and Webex customers like McClaren’s CEO Zak Brown and Arianna Huffington. Acting like an true end-to-end partner, our teams handled everything from marketing and registration to the production of the animations for the live event.

CLIENT: Samsung

Ever imagine yourself operating a real-life robotic arm to grapple for epic gaming gear? We did exactly that by partnering with W+K, Samsung and Microsoft to promote Samsung’s latest game-changer-the Neo QLED TV.

Livestreaming a 24-hour show from a galaxy-themed set, we invited the internet to try their hand at grabbing over 200 Samsung prizes. How? By remotely maneuvering a Halo-inspired mechanical arm, of course. Producing everything from the out-of-this-world set to the arm itself, we reached over 4 million fans, successfully introducing viewers to the latest in gaming gear with an old-school shopping channel twist.

T-Mobile brilliantly combines conventional Christmas tradition and cutting edge technology with the launch of Santa’s Stream-Along. Built for today’s world of virtual connection, the interactive experience takes families on a sleigh ride through the North Pole, with stops at Iceberg Beach, Candy Castle, Santa’s Cottage, Giant Pine Grove and Santa’s Toy Factory –– all built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. Far from an off-the-shelf virtual experience, participants are guided through the North Pole by a real, live Santa Claus. T-Mobile didn’t let this year’s Santa shortage stop them, partnering with Shark Tank Winner Hire Santa to cast a diverse range of Santas, ensuring that each family could see themselves reflected in a Santa of their choosing.

For CES 2021—the leading trade for consumer electronics—we worked with FCBX to craft an online experience. Redefine the Limits invites people to explore the world from the safety of their own home. Narrated by renowned experts, the interactive website presents a five-part journey with visitors as the protagonist. With experiences like capturing Earth from space to a Yellowstone expedition, people discover how they can collaborate using Canon products to push their creative boundaries. We directed and produced all content from scratch—from the CG globe to the live-action footage shot around the world.

After a successful debut at Inspire 2019, Microsoft asked us to produce another version of our mosaic wall for the World Economic Forum. The installation represents the latest in a series of activations we’ve been creating together with Microsoft. Comprising 20 Microsoft Surface and non-Surface devices, the wall features 20 social-good initiatives powered by Microsoft. All content is programmatically controlled by the Microsoft Surface Hub 2S that visitors can use to play videos and learn more about Microsoft innovations. In the end, the wall also got used in several Davos keynotes, creating more opportunities for Microsoft to inspire by example.

We worked with Amazon Hub to create modular installations across 15 university campuses to showcase Aveeno products during the holidays. Managing design, logistics, production, and staffing, we stepped up to the challenge of simultaneous activations, building sharable living walls highlighting Aveeno's natural ingredients, and an in-store guessing game using Amazon Lockers. The overarching installation layout was planned for customization, so it could fit in a myriad of physical footprints. Amplified by an influencer campaign through IMA, the activations garnered 1.9M impressions on social media, and the Aveeno products we featured experienced a 124% increase in visits on Amazon.

For Microsoft’s new flagship store on Oxford Circus, we created the ultimate selfie moment. Literally putting people at the centre of the experience, visitors can take a selfie as if they’re standing atop the famous London intersection or amid another iconic landmark. The illusory selfie is created through a tilted display armed with high-definition drone footage that we shot specifically for this project. We set up multiple displays around the store that each allowed visitors to select their favourite scenes and shots using a Surface Pro tablet—turning Microsoft’s Oxford Circus store into an attraction of its own.

We created four installations to be used in different configurations during Microsoft partner events. Focussed on customer stories, the installations combine art and technology to make for a series of inspiring moments. Two pieces feature interactive film to demonstrate how Microsoft products are changing the way work is done in the city of Corona and at VolkerWessels. We also designed a massive video installation composed of 46 Microsoft Surface devices that was also used by Satya Nadella in his CEO keynotes. Finally, we designed and built a high-end networking environment made perfect for on-site product demos.

When DoorDash challenged us to create an activation for Taste of Chicago that was family-friendly, and cool, we packed our bags and built a summer camp in the middle of Grant Park. Camp DoorDash featured everything 1.2 million visitors to the world’s largest food festival could want. Air-conditioned tents, innovative camp games like Fishing for Burgers, and even an arts and crafts table where visitors could make and send postcards to loved ones. You name it, we had it. Debuting on the hottest day of the year, Camp DoorDash was a summer oasis at Taste of Chicago 2019.

Encouraging IT professionals to make the shift to Windows 10 and Office 365, we produced a conference booth featuring an interactive adaptation of the Behind the Shift film we made for the same campaign. The installation demonstrates Microsoft’s latest technologies in a tangible setting, letting visitors experience the benefits of upgrading first hand. The installation comprises a full workspace setup with Microsoft software and hardware. Visitors are put into the shoes of the Deputy CIO of the City of Corona to complete a series of tasks using Microsoft’s state-of-the-art solutions and the tools around them to keep the city running.

Activation was live in Seattle, WA in May 2019.

At this year's INFINITI Pavilion for the 2016 Concours De Elegance, guests participated in a unique emotion driven interactive experience. As they walked around and engaged with vehicles like the all-new 2017 Q60, the first-ever QX30, and the Q80 Inspiration Concept, they were given a wearable armband device that connected to various sensors, located on the cars and throughout the event space, that measured what they were doing and how they feel.

The armband's sensors were able to track individual biometrics like EMG (muscle cell electrical activity) and detect specific gestures and bodily movements. It can also connected to sensors mounted on each car to infer enthusiasm due to time spent in proximity of a specific vehicle. Additionally, cameras mounted throughout the Pavilion detected facial expressions and determined overall room sentiment, while proximity microphones measured changes in conversation levels around each car. Finally, the Q60 featured a heartbeat sensor on the steering wheel to determine how a driver felt behind the wheel of the powerful, all-new Q60.

With real-time responsiveness, all of the different data sources were pulled into a custom-designed algorithm that turned both individual emotions and collective measurements into the moving, living digital artwork displayed on the LED screens, so that guests coul see their emotions transformed into art. It was up to guests how long they chose to contribute their emotions for, and when they ended their experience, the data from their armband was scanned to receive a one-of-a-kind poster of the artwork generated from their emotions. Ultimately, all of these posters of the emotions of guests will be compiled into a beautiful art book for INFINITI.

To bring awareness to the new line of Infiniti concept cars, Tool and Director Steve Mapp created an immersive Virtual Reality experience that showcases the style and performance of the Q60 and QX30 in two stunning 360 degree films. 'Dream Road,' shot on location in Norway, Italy and Morocco, gives users a unique driving experience through a series of epic switchbacks and 'Pencil to Metal' illustrates the comprehensive design process in immersive 360 from original sketches to final produced vehicle. For the unveiling of the concept cars at the historic Concours d'Elegance car show in Pebble Beach, California, Tool designed and developed custom VR Apps for iOS, Android, Oculus Rift and YouTube360 platforms, the latter being one of the first of its kind in 360 pre-roll video format.

CLIENT: Adidas Running

Adidas’ Alphabounce Instinct is the ultimate example of technology being used to reimagine the running shoe. In the spirit of tech-driven innovation, we were tasked to reinvent the retail experience for the shoe, before the product even hit stores.

So, we used augmented reality to shape the future of the product walkthrough. We developed an AR app for the Adidas field marketing team to use as a tool to educate retail associates about the unique features of the Instinct and to get them excited about the shoe before it hit stores. Interactive hotspots triggered key messaging points of the campaign story that were brought to life through 3D animation and motion graphics.

The AR experience was loaded onto a set of tablets for easy mobility and flexible use within any environment. Devices were deployed on iPads around the country to agents in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Miami, empowering the team and it's network of retail partners to become experts and evangelists of the shoe before the it even hit shelves.

This experience proved to be is a powerful business case for the way AR product demos can build buzz and boost sales of a product in advance of its launch. You can find a bright future for both the Instinct and augmented reality at a retailer near you.

This year, thousands of people have tuned in to watch Thursday Night Football on Twitch*.

This season Twitch’s NFL coverage includes a brand new Extension on twitch.tv/primevideo that lets you project how drives will end, who will win, and more. Make the right calls and you can rule the leaderboard and prove that you should be on the sidelines calling the shots. Or at least hold one of those clipboards.

The Extension also lets you access team stats that are updated live as the game progresses.

Cheering for your favorite team, whether you’re in the stands, or yelling at your screen is one of the best parts about being a fan. Now it can also be a way to show support of a good cause. This October, during all our Thursday Night Football broadcasts, for every 100 bits cheered on twitch.tv/primevideo, Twitch will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society. So make your voice heard and cheer like crazy for whoever you’re supporting.

Step inside the large cylindrical tower structure that represents the vast mountains of data housed and scanned by AI in the cloud. AR app-enabled tablets will immerse visitors in an AI-powered journey that spans three unique use cases: i) conservation work designed to protect the world’s oceans by using drones to track whales and capture streaming images that are sent back to a boat where AI is used to quickly categorize the data and track the health of the whales; ii) work with Princeton neuroscientists to analyze fMRI scans of the brain with AI and decode brain “wiring” to learn how it can affect perception and the way we feel in an effort to treat brain disorders in the future; iii) teaming up with Ferrari to experience sports broadcasting of the future that uses AI-controlled drones and real-time semantic identification to film and live scan race footage, to deliver the ultimate shot. Be taken on a journey that explains how much can be done with AI today, what is mere months away from becoming a reality, and where we see the technology evolving in only a few short years.

To showcase the coming-fast-future of Automated Driving in an enclosed space, Intel marketers used Microsoft HoloLens “holographic computer” headsets to build an Augmented Reality experience that let attendees “see” what the car sees: sensor data from all sides, other traffic and even data flying up and down from the cloud.

The AR experience allowed attendees to get a feel — from the cockpit or outside the car — for how the future of automated driving will pin passengers in their seat thanks to on-board artificial intelligence and 5G connectivity.

This custom built AR experience launched at CES in Las Vegas in early 2017 and hit the road with live demos throughout the Winter and Spring of 2017 at I360 (San Diego, CA), Mobile World Congress (Barcelona, Spain), Embedded World (Nuremberg, Germany), CeBit (Hannover, Germany), Intel Autonomous Driving Garage launch (San Jose, CA) and Dell EMC World (Las Vegas, NV).

When our plans to build a physical installation for AT&T's annual business summit were abruptly dashed by Delta, we quickly pivoted to a virtual alternative that didn't feel phoned in. The team adapted the physical installation into a dynamic fly-through animation displaying AT&T's 5G Network Slicing and Private Routing technology. By utilizing the global team’s Design, Animation, Sound and Post-production skills in parallel, we were able to turn around a premium quality virtual showpiece in just 4-weeks.

In a stunt to introduce its "Mixer" game streaming platform (and potential competitor to Twitch), Microsoft put on a fireworks display that viewers could control themselves.

The activity, created last month by 215 McCann, let viewers choose the colors, shapes, and sizes of fireworks via a panel of interactive buttons. As the community members spent Sparks (Mixer's interactive currency), their names and Spark contribution appeared in a real-time ticker to show that the community collectively launched the fireworks.

Apple's commemorative mini-site features an interactive timeline chronicling the evolution of Mac hardware and the machine's effect on the world. Users are encouraged to share their own Mac story by filling out a short form asking which model was their first and for what purpose it was used. To break that silence, SONOS and Apple Music collaborated with Killer Mike, St. Vincent, Matt Berninger and dozens of families from across the globe to show how music connects families to the most important thing of all: each other.

The fabulous GoPro brand has an ubiquitous bumper that comes before every video that hits the internet - in other words, precluding millions of content pieces. Director Gmunk and the team at Tool wanted to take a stab at reinterpreting the bumper with some new flavour and energy, transitioning the brand to a more modern presence where design and conceptual touches are brought to the forefront. The thinking behind the new approach was to focus on the idea of visualizing resolution, representing an image construct with small packets that expand, multiply and ultimately stream through an expanding 16:9 array to the content items. Unfortunately, the GoPro team didn’t want to go in this high-tech direction so it never saw the glistening beams of acceptance, and victory.

Holding hands is both a sign of affection and solidarity. To illustrate Allstate's LGBT platform, Tool created an immersive Facebook connect WebGL experience where users can virtually join a chain of hands and encourage their social community to do the same. Spanning millions of miles across the globe, thousands of users create a dynamic and searchable chain of user submitted photos.

IBM approached us to create a VR experience that would introduce their supercomputer “Watson” to the Automotive industry. The immersive film is centered around letting viewers experience first hand what its like to take a ride in the cognitive car of the future. The drive takes place in a stylized 3-D environment while info graphics communicating Watson’s key features  animate and surround the viewer. The Google cardboard experience made its debut at the 2016  International Auto Show in Detroit and is now available for download on IOS devices.

Tool's Jason Zada worked with Australia's Tourism Victoria on "Remote Control Tourist," a crowdsourced project that lets potential visitors to Melbourne explore the city virtually via social media.

For eight hours a day, from today to Oct. 13, Facebook and Twitter users logged on to the Remote Control Tourist website and "controled" two volunteer explorers with helmet-mounted streaming video cameras. Users could check out the explorers' Instagram feeds, track their locations using Google Maps or FourSquare and ask them (via a tweet or Facebook) to visit certain places, check things out or even sing a song.

Working with Exit Films and Tourism Victoria agency Clemenger BBDO, Tool and its digital team created a number of technologies for the project. They leveraged the Google Maps API to create a custom map that shows real-time tracking of the Remote Control Tourists (for over 500 locations) and built a custom GPS that works in iOS. Tool also designed a data-scraping strategy and notification plan to notify users when new content was available, and to allow them to chat and make requests to the tourists. It also used its proprietary social-media software to allow the production teams to monitor Tweets and Facebook posts in real time.

It's 1959 and the Cold War rages on. Tensions between the United States and the U.S.S.R. are at an all-time high. The threat of nuclear war hangs in the balance. But in the midst of this intense psychological warfare, the unlikeliest of heroes step forward, not in a war zone, not at the negotiating table, but on a basketball court. This is the extraordinary tale of the Harlem Globetrotters and their historic trip into the heart of the Soviet Union. A 30 for 30 installent.

The Sundance Channel continues its partnership with Isabella Rossellini, who wrote, directed and stars in in a series of quirky films entitled "Mammas Day" for Mother's Day. The films, which will be broadcast on Sundance on Sunday evening, feature the actress playing the parts of different kinds of mothers from nature, including a wasp and a cuckoo. (Rossellini's previous collaboration with Sundance was a nature-themed series of movies called 'Green Porno.' To create a Mother's Day card with the movies, Sundance and production company Tool have created an HTML-5 website, where you can choose a suitable "type" of mother, and send the corresponding video as an e-card.

The Passion Genome was created to offer everyone a unique opportunity to explore their 6 primary passions and see how they are connected to their family, friends, and the world. The genome analyzes a user’s Facebook profile and then creates a dynamically generated portrait based on a person’s profile photo and their passions. This portrait serves not only as an interactive infographic but also a piece of generative art that captures the essence of the user. The portrait also contributes to the building of a worldwide interactive genome where users can discover passions and connections they never knew they had.

In collaboration with TBWA\Chiat\Day to promote the Nissan Versa Note, Tool designed and built the Passion Genome with cutting edge Canvas, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Facebook Connect, and 3D motion graphic techniques combined with an extensive backend that delivers key statistics about the genome.
